Urad dhal Rice – உளுந்தம் பருப்பு சாதம்
Ingredients
- Black split Urad dal – 200g
- Rice – 200g
- Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp
- Garlic cloves – 6
- Coconut – 1
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
- Cumin seed – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – Few
- Saseme oil – Required
- salt – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation time: 50-60 minutes
- Fry the urad dhal and rice and wash twice and keep aside
- Grate coconut and chop garlic
- Place a pressure cooker over stove, add 1 litre water
- Once water boiled, add rice, dal, fenugreek seed and garlic
- Once it starts bubbling, add required amount salt and mix it well
- Cook it for 5 minutes and mix it well then close the lid tightly
- Cook for 2 whistles in low flame
- After pressure goes off completely, open the lid and stir rice gently
- Take a pan, add 1 tbspn sesame oil after oil heats up add cumin seeds followed by asafoetida, curry leaves
- Fry it for 10 seconds then add 200g grated coconut and saute for 20 seconds
- Add this seasoning to the rice dal mixture and mix it well
- Now the Healthy urad dal rice is ready to serve.
- (Note) Hot serving is more delicious and healthy
