Sirukeerai Poriyal
Ingredients
- Tropical Amaranth – 1 bunch
- Green gram dal (splitted) – 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – A pinch
- Coriander powder – 4 tsp
- Small onion – 2
- Tomato – 1
- Garlic cloves – 2
- Coconut – 1/4
- Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves – Few
- oil – Required
- salt – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation time 25-30 minutes
- Clean sirukeerai, wash it and chop it finely and keep aside
- Chop onion, grate coconut, chop garlic, grind it, chop tomato and keep aside
- Take a pan and add 50ml water, green gram and make it boil for 5 minutes
- Heat the pan with oil, then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds
- Once it crackles, add onion, curry leaves and saute it well till onion become golden
- Add tomato and saute it for 3 minutes
- After that add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and fry it till raw smell goes off
- Then add ponnangani keerai and required salt and mix it well
- Add 100ml water, cook them for 10 minutes till greens become reduced
- If not cooked after 5 minutes, add some water and cook it again
- Then sprinkle grated coconut and saute it for 5 minutes
- Finally turn off the flame and transferred it to a bowl
- Now the healthy Sirukeerai Poriyal is ready to serve.
