Tomato Rice – தக்காளி சாதம்
Ingredients
- Cooked rice – 250g
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Chana dal – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Green chillies – 4
- Curry leaves – Few
- Red onion – 1
- Juicy tomatoes – 5
- Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp
- Chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Salt – Required
- Coriander leaves – Few
How to Prepare
Total Preparation time: 15-20 minutes
- Chop the green chillies and chop the tomatoes, onion
- Then heats up the pan and add oil
- After oil heated up, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds
- Once it crackle, add chana dal, urad dal
- Fry it for 2 minutes till they turn golden
- Add green chillies and curry leaves then add chopped onion
- Saute for 3 minutes then add turmeric powder and chilli powder
- Mix it for 1 minute then add chopped tomatoes
- Mix it well and close the pan for 3 minutes
- Cook it well till the oil comes out from the tomato masala
- Mix the cooked rice with the tomato masala very well
- Finally, sprinkle the coriander leaves
- Now the tomato rice is ready to serve
