Ragi Upma
Ingredients
- Ragi – 250g
- Urad dal – 1 tsp
- Chana dal – 1 tsp
- Red onion – 1
- Tomato – 1
- Carrot – 1
- Green chillies – 4
- Ginger – 1/2
- Garlic – 6
- Asafoetida – A pinch
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Lemon – 1
- Curd – 80g
- Coriander leaves – Few
- Curry leaves – Few
- Salt – Required
- Oil – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes
- Dry roast the ragi in low flame till raw smell goes off and keep aside
- Chop onions, chop tomatoes finely, grind ginger and garlic into paste, extract juice from lemon, slit green chillies, chop carrots, chop french beans chop coriander leaves and keep them aside separately
- Take a pan and heat 3 tsp oil then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds once it crackle add urad dal, chana dal, red chillies
- Once dals become golden, add onion and green chillies, curry leaves and fry them till become golden brown
- Then add tomato and turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, asafoetida and saute till tomato become mushy
- Then add carrots and salt and saute them, close the lid and cook them for 5 minutes
- After that add lemon juice and stir them well for 2 minutes
- Pour 350 ml water and curd mix it well and boil for 5 minutes
- Then add ragi gradually and stir it well till water drains out
- Close the lid and allow them to cook in low flame for 5 minutes
- Turn off the flame, garnish with coriander leaves and transfer it into a plate
- Now the healthy Ragi Upma is ready for serve
