Ragi Rotti
Ingredients
- Finger millet flour (Ragi) – 250g
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Red onion – 1
- Green chilli – 1
- Ginger – 1/4
- Coconut (One small slice) – 1/8
- Curry leaves – Few
- Coriander leaves – Few
- oil – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation time: 15-20 minutes
- Chop onion, chop green chillies, chop coriander leaves, grate coconut and grate ginger
- Then take a wide bowl, add onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger, curry leaves and cumin seeds
- Mix and squeeze it well using your hand for 5 minutes
- Add ragi flour and add required to make a smooth, soft dough
- Mix it well by your hand, make dough, cover it with oil and marinate for 70 minutes
- Take the dough, split them into palm hold sized small balls
- Take a small banana leaf, press it make like a disc
- Then by using your hand slowly stretch this small disc into round shape if stretching is difficult, dip your finger in water and try again
- Make 2 to three small ant hole sized holes in the round dough for nice cook
- Keep the tawa in medium flame, apply little amount of oil and spread it well
- After oil gets heat up, lay around the round shaped ragi dough and pour some oil at the edges and holes of the ragi dough and cook it for 2 minutes
- After that turn to other side and pour half of the oil in the same way and cook for a minutes.
- Cook it till become golden brown then transfer to a plate
- Now the nutritious Ragi rotti is ready to serve.
