Peanut Rice – வேர்க்கடலை சாதம்


Ingredients

  • Peanut – 53g
  • Rice – 250g
  • Red Chilli – 4
  • Saseme seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Coconut – 1
  • Sesame Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Urad Dal – 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Chana dal – 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – Few
  • Oil – Required
  • Salt – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation time: 10-15 minutes

  1. Wash rice cleanly then soak it in 380 ml water for 30 minutes, add salt and cook it then transfer into a bowl and keep aside
  2. Grate coconut and keep aside in a bowl
  3. Take a pan, add peanuts and fry it for 5 minutes and then add red chillies.
  4. Fry them for 2 minutes then add sesame seeds and fry them for 1 minute
  5. Then add 2 tbsp grated coconut and roast them for 3 minutes till it turns golden
  6. Move this fried ingredients into a wide bowl or plate and make them cool
  7. Grind this fried ingredients nicely into coarse mixture then collect this peanut powder into a bowl
  8. Take a pan, add 1 tsp oil once it heats up add mustard seeds
  9. After it crackle, add 1 tsp Urad dal followed by chana dal, curry leaves
  10. After curry leaves become crispy, add this seasoning and salt into the cooked rice and mix them well
  11. After that add prepared peanut powder into the cooked rice and stir it well until the rice is completely bind with powder.
  12. Finally sprinkle coriander leaves
  13. Now the Peanut rice is ready for serve
