Peanut Rice – வேர்க்கடலை சாதம்
Ingredients
- Peanut – 53g
- Rice – 250g
- Red Chilli – 4
- Saseme seeds – 1 tbsp
- Coconut – 1
- Sesame Oil – 1 tbsp
- Urad Dal – 1 tsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
- Chana dal – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – Few
- Oil – Required
- Salt – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation time: 10-15 minutes
- Wash rice cleanly then soak it in 380 ml water for 30 minutes, add salt and cook it then transfer into a bowl and keep aside
- Grate coconut and keep aside in a bowl
- Take a pan, add peanuts and fry it for 5 minutes and then add red chillies.
- Fry them for 2 minutes then add sesame seeds and fry them for 1 minute
- Then add 2 tbsp grated coconut and roast them for 3 minutes till it turns golden
- Move this fried ingredients into a wide bowl or plate and make them cool
- Grind this fried ingredients nicely into coarse mixture then collect this peanut powder into a bowl
- Take a pan, add 1 tsp oil once it heats up add mustard seeds
- After it crackle, add 1 tsp Urad dal followed by chana dal, curry leaves
- After curry leaves become crispy, add this seasoning and salt into the cooked rice and mix them well
- After that add prepared peanut powder into the cooked rice and stir it well until the rice is completely bind with powder.
- Finally sprinkle coriander leaves
- Now the Peanut rice is ready for serve
