Palmfruit Payasam – பனை பழ பாயாசம்
Ingredients
- Jelly seeds of palmyra – 10
- Milk – 250ml
- Palm sugar – 300g
- Cardamom – 6
- Cashew nuts – 20
- Raisins – 10
- Saffron – A pinch
- Ghee – Required
- Salt – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes
- Remove the white skin of palm jelly seeds, grind them like a paste and keep aside
- Heat a bowl add 200ml water and add jaggery, dissolve like syrup and filter it and keep aside
- Heat a pan with ghee, fry 20 cashew nuts, 10 raisins, cardamom for 2 minutes and keep aside
- And heat a heavy bottomed pan, boil milk in medium flame and stir it for 2 minutes till it reaches 3/4 of its quantity
- Then add cardamom powder, salt and stir it continuously for 1 minutes in low flame
- Add jaggery and stir it well for 1 minute, if recipe is dried add 50ml milk and required jaggery in it and boil it for 2 minutes
- Then add ghee roasted cashewnuts, raisens, 4 tsp ghee and stir it for 2 minutes
- Turn off the flame the refrigerate the payasam for 40 minutes then add grinned nungu into the payasam stir it well
- Finally transfer it into a bowl and garnish with saffron
- Now the healthy Nungu payasam is ready for serve
