Moong dal Kolakattai
Ingredients
- Rice – 250g
- Moong dal – 125g
- Jaggery – Required
- Coconut – 1
- Cardamom – 3
- Ghee – Required
- Salt – Required
- Oil – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes
- Dry roast rice, make it cool and grind them like a powder, grate coconut, grate cardamom and keep them aside separately
- Add 2 tsp oil, required salt then add slowly, add the boiled water in rice flour, make a smooth dough then mirante for 40 minutes
- Soak the moong dal for 20 minutes, clean them thoroughly
- Take a pan, add 125g water and add moong dal then lock the pan with lid and cook them for 20 minutes
- After that remove water and mash the dal well
- Take a pan add jaggery and coconut, mashed dal, cardamom and stir them for 10 minutes till jaggery melts completely
- After cool down, make it like tiny sized balls and keep aside
- Take the dough and make it lemon sized small balls and flatten it, place the dal stuffings ball inside
- And close the dough like coned shaped kolukattai
- Take a idli steamer vessel, you can use any steamer, add water and boils it for 10 minutes
- Then place vessel and white cloth, then place the prepared kolukkattai, and close the steamer vessel
- Allow them cook in steam for 10 minutes and finally move into a plate
- Now the Sweet Moong dal Kolukattai is ready for serve
