Mint Rice – புதினா சாதம்
Ingredients
- Mint leaves – 200g
- Corinader leaves – 100g
- Rice – 250g
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Small Onion – 2
- Small tomato – 1/2
- Turmeric Powder – A pinch
- Gren Chillies – 6
- Ginger – 1/4
- Garlic cloves – 3
- Cinnamon – 2
- Cloves – 2
- Bay leaf – 1
- Curry leaves – Few
- Coriander leaves – Few
- Oil – Required
- Salt – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation time: 30-35 minutes
- Wash rice cleanly then soak it in 380ml water for 30 minutes, add salt, cook it transferred into a bowl and keep aside
- Slice onion lengthwise, chop the tomatoes, slice the green chillies, chop mint leaves, chop coriander leaves and keep aside
- Take a pan, add 1 tsp oil once oil heats up, add cumin seeds, ginger and garlic
- Then add tomato and green chillies and saute it till tomato become mushy
- Then add coriander leaves, mint leaves and curry leaves and saute it till the leaves become small
- Turn off the flame and once it cool down, add some water and grind them like a paste and keep aside
- Take a pan, add some oil then add cinnamon, cloves and bay leaf
- Then add onion and saute till become golden
- Then add a pinch of turmeric powder and fry it for 10 seconds
- After that add mint paste and fry them for 2 minutes
- Add cooked rice into the pan and mix well for 2 minutes in low flame
- Turn off the flame and garnish with mint leaves for nice look
- Now the greenish Mint rice is ready for serve
