Green Peas Poriyal
Ingredients
- Green Peas – 250g
- Urad dal – 1 tsp
- Fenugreek Seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – A pinch
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Pepper powder – 1 tsp
- Small onion – 2
- Lemon – 1
- Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves – Few
- Corinader leaves – Few
- Oil – Required
- Salt – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation time 25-30 minutes
- Clean and wash the green peas and keep aside
- Chop onion, coriander leaves and take the juice from lemon and keep aside
- Heat the pan with oil, then add mustard seeds
- Once it crackles, add urad dal, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and fry for 30 seconds
- Then add onion, curry leaves and saute it well till onion become golden
- After that add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and fry it till raw smell goes off
- Then add green peas and lemon juice, required salt and mix it well
- Cook them for 5 minutes in medium flame till recipe become dry
- If not cooked after 5 minutes, add some water and cook for another 5 minutes
- Then sprinkle 2 tsp pepper powder and saute it for 5 minutes
- Finally garnish with coriander leaves and transferred into a plate
- Now the Greenpeas Poriyal is ready to serve.
