Curry leaves Rice – கறிவேப்பிலை சாதம்


Ingredients

  • Curry leaves – 200g
  • Rice – 250g
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Small Onion – 2
  • Tomato – 1
  • Turmeric Powder – A pinch
  • Red Chillies – 2
  • Ginger – 1/2
  • Garlic cloves – 2
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida – A pinch
  • Lemon – 1
  • Coriander leaves – Few
  • Oil – Required
  • Salt – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation time: 30-35 minutes

  1. Wash rice cleanly then soak it in 380ml water for 30 minutes and cook it and transfer it into a bowl and keep aside
  2. Chop onion lengthwise, take the juice from lemon, chop the tomatoes, chop coriander leaves, chop curry leaves, chop ginger and garlic finely and keep aside
  3. Take a pan, add 1 tsp oil once oil heats up, add cumin seeds, ginger and garlic
  4. Then add curry leaves and fry till the leaves become small
  5. Leave to cool down and grind the curry leaves and keep aside
  6. Take a pan and add some oil the add mustard seeds,
  7. Once it crackle, add onions and green chillies and saute it till onion become golden
  8. Add tomato and salt and saute it till tomato become mushy
  9. Then add turmeric powder, coriander powder and asafoetida
  10. And fry for 2 minutes then add curry leaves paste and lemon juice and mix it well
  11. After that add cooked rice and mix them well for 3 minutes in low flame
  12. Turn off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves for nice look
  13. Now the healthy Curry leaves rice is ready for serve
