Chicken Fry – சிக்கன் வறுவல்


Ingredients

  • Medium Chicken – 500g
  • small Onions – 5
  • Tomato – 1
  • Black pepper – 1 tsp
  • Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Bay leaf – 1
  • Cinnamon stick – 2
  • Cloves – 3
  • Green chillies – 4
  • Ginger – 1
  • Garlic cloves – 6
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Curd – 1 tsp
  • Lemon – 1
  • Coriander leaves – Required
  • Curry leaves – Required
  • Salt – Required
  • Oil – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes

  1. Wash the chicken and drain water then add curd, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt ane lemon and marinate for 40 minutes
  2. Chop onions, chop tomatoes, crush black pepper, grate ginger, garlic and grind them like a paste, extract juice from lemon and keep aside
  3. Take a pan, fry black pepper, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, bayleaf, cloves, curry leaves and grind them well and keep aside
  4. Heat a pan with oil and add mustard seeds, once it crackles add onions
  5. Saute it till it become translucent then add tomatoes, salt
  6. Saute it till tomatoes become mushy then add green chillies, ginger garlic paste
  7. After that add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and prepared spice powder
  8. Fry it till the raw smell goes off, then add marinate chicken pieces one by one slowly
  9. Mix the pieces well with masala for 10 minutes in medium flame till it absorbs masala completely
  10. Add 100ml water and lemon juice, mix it well and close the lid and allow them to cook for another 5 minutes
  11. Open the lid and stir it well then close the lid and cook it till the water dried
  12. Finally garnish the chicken fry with coriander leaves
  13. Now the delicious Chicken fry is ready for serve
