Bread Halwa – ரொட்டி அல்வா


Ingredients

  • Bread slices – 10
  • Milk – 250ml
  • Sugar – 600g
  • Cardamom – 6
  • Cashew nuts – 30
  • Raisins – 8
  • Ghee – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes

  1. Cut the breads and grind it like a powder and keep aside
  2. Heat a pan with ghee, fry cashew nuts, raisins, cardamom for 2 minutes and keep aside
  3. Take a pan, add 100g sugar and 50ml water and allow them to melt
  4. And heat a heavy bottomed pan with 2 tbsp ghee and then grinned bread and 250ml milk
  5. And stir it continuously till it become thinker it may takes 20 to 30 minutes and then add sugar and mix it well
  6. After that add ghee fried raisin, cashew nuts, cardamom and mix it well for 3 minutes
  7. Then add 2 tbsp ghee and mix it well and stir till the ghee comes from the halwa this may take 30 minutes
  8. Stir it very well to avoid burnt bottom and once it become thicker, thick gooey, non sticky and this is the perfect halwa consistency
  9. Turn off the flame and transfer it into a bowl
  10. Now the tasty Bread halwa is ready for serve
