Fish Fry – மீன் வறுவல்
Ingredients
- oval sized fish pieces – 500g
- Black pepper – 1 tsp
- Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Cinnamon stick – 2
- Cloves – 3
- Bay leaf – 1
- Star anise – 1
- Ginger – 1
- Garlic cloves – 6
- Red chilli powder – 3 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tsp
- Lemon – 1
- Coriander leaves – Required
- Curry leaves – Required
- salt – Required
- oil – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes
- Remove the scales from the fish by scratching them, wash the fish in turmeric powder and salt thrice and drain water and keep aside
- Grate ginger, garlic and grind them like a paste, extract juice from lemon and keep aside
- Take a pan, fry black pepper, fennel seeds, curry leaves, cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, cloves, anise, cinnamon and grind them well and keep aside
- Take a plate, add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, prepared spice powder, salt
- Add little amount of water then mix it well make them like a paste and keep aside
- Apply and smear this paste with fish pieces and marinate for 30 minutes
- Heat the pan with 3 tsp oil, slowly add the fish in oil
- Fry it for 5 minutes in medium flame on both sides
- Transfer the fishes into a plate and finally garnish it with coriander leaves, sliced onions
- Now the spicy Fish fry is ready for serve
