Black Pepper Rice – மிளகு சாதம்
Ingredients
- Black peppercorn – 3 tbsp
- Rice – 250g
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Red Onion – 1
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Fresh Curd – 2 tsp
- Garlic clove – 1
- Cloves – 2
- Lemon – 1/2
- Curry leaves – Few
- Coriander leaves – Few
- Ghee – Required
- Oil – Required
- Salt – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation time: 30-35 minutes
- Wash rice cleanly then soak it in 380ml water for 30 minutes, add salt, cook it and transfer it into a bowl and keep aside
- Grind peppercorns and garlic into a fine powder and take lemon juice from lemon, slice onion lengthwise, chop the tomatoes, chop coriander leaves and keep aside
- Take a pan, add 1 tsp oil, 1/4 tsp ghee once oil heats up, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds
- Once it crackle, add cloves and followed by onions, curry leaves and saute till it become golden
- Then add pepper, garlic powder, lemon and fry for 2 minutes
- After that add the cooked rice and curd and mix it well for 3 minutes in medium flame
- Turn off the flame, garnish with coriander leaves for nice look
- Now the spicy Black pepper rice is ready for serve
