Sesame Rice – எள்ளு சாதம்
Ingredients
- Sesame Seeds – 53g
- Rice – 250g
- Red Chilli – 4 to 5
- Urad Dal – 2 tsp
- Sesame Oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
- Cashew nuts – 10 to 15
- Curry leaves – Few
- Oil – Required
- Salt – Required
How to Prepare
Total Preparation time: 20-25 minutes
- Wash rice cleanly then soak it in 380 ml water for 30 minutes, add salt and cook it then transfer into a bowl and keep aside
- Take a pan add 1 tsp oil once oil heats up, add ural dal and red chillies.
- Fry them for 2 minutes till the dals become golden and then save them in bowl and keep aside
- Take the same pan, fry sesame seeds in medium flame till it completely pops up then save them separately in a bowl
- After fried ingredients cooled down, take a mixer/small grinder, grind fried urad dal, red chilli nicely
- Then add sesame seeds and grind them nicely for 5 minutes then collect this powder into a bowl
- Take a pan, add 1 tsp oil once it heats up add mustard seeds
- After it crackle, add 1 tsp Urad dal followed by curry leaves
- After curry leaves become crispy, add this seasoning into the prepared sesame powder and mix them well
- Fry cashew nuts in ghee and add them into it
- Then add some salt and 1 tsp sesame oil and mix it well
- Add this sesame powder into the cooked rice and mix it till the rice is completely bind with powder.
- Finally sprinkle coriander leaves
- Now the Sesame rice is ready for serve
